0If you’re reading this post, it means you already know what Windows Server Core is, so I don’t need to tell you is a Microsoft operating system without a graphical user interface. After installation all you have is a terminal console, so bye-bye Start Menu and Control Panel. I think is a great operating system which offers better security, small footprint, and low resource consumption. Install Certification Authority in Windows Server 2008 R2
0Yes, you can have your own Certification Authority (CA), and issue certificates for clients. The bad news is that certificates issued by your internal CA are trusted only by you internal clients, or by clients that have your root certificate imported. For internal applications, sites etc this is gold, because you don’t have to by a commercial certificate, but if you have a public HTTPS site you will need a commercial certificate. Certification authorities can have multiple ramifications or levels, like Root CA, then a Subordinate CA, and the last one is the Issuing CA. (more…)

Install Windows Server 2008 R2 Hyper-V Role
0Starting with Windows Server 2008 Microsoft entered in the era of true Windows server virtualization with Hyper-V. Hyper-V is a level 1 virtualization software from Microsoft. I sad level one because it work directly with the hardware, meaning there is no operating system between Hyper-V and the hardware (this are also known as Hypervisors).
